JANUARY 20, 2022 - Georgia CEAL is a member of the National Institutes of Health that supports statewide efforts to conduct urgent community-engaged research and outreach focused on COVID-19 awareness and education to address misinformation and mistrust; and promote and facilitate inclusion of diverse racial and ethnic populations in clinical trials (prevention, vaccine, therapeutics), reflective of the populations disproportionately affected by the pandemic.

NOVEMBER 30, 2021 - As we have seen during the COVID-19 pandemic, health and social disparities exist that result in disproportionately higher rates of exposure, illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19 for marginalized communities. In January, the White House established a Presidential COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force, which last week released a comprehensive report with recommendations for mitigating inequities caused or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and for preventing such inequities in the future.
